Meeting Overview

Objective

The role of the EAB is to provide expert advice and feedback to the EC on the range of topics relevant for the success of the ACCESS program. While the EAB will generally meet with the representatives of all of the awards and NSF as a group, the option exists for the EAB to meet with individual award teams as appropriate.

Activities of the EAB may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing feedback and input to ACCESS annual program plans

  • Reviewing proposed changes to initiatives from individual ACCESS Service Teams

  • Providing feedback on ACCESS survey results, data, and reports

  • Making recommendations to the EC to serve the evolving CI ecosystem over the life of the ACCESS program

  • Giving insights into emerging programs, leadership, and trends that may guide program-wide innovation

Membership

EAB members shall be chosen for their expertise and demonstrated commitment to the community served by the ACCESS program. Areas of expertise may include but are not limited to:

  • Science and engineering research

  • Community engagement

  • Workforce development (both in the research community and among CI professionals)

  • Computational science

  • Approaches to improving equity, diversity, and inclusion

  • Development of CI software, services and other capabilities

  • Large-scale CI programs, systems, and services

  • Project governance

The EC seeks an EAB membership that will provide the widest possible range of input and thus will encourage a balanced membership with diverse viewpoints, diverse demographic backgrounds, and those at various points in their careers.
