Logging into RP Resources

SSOHub, currently used by XSEDE users to access XSEDE resources, is deprecated and will shut off on August 31, 2022. To continue using various HPC systems after August 31, 2022, you MUST FOLLOW THE STEPS OUTLINED ON THIS WIKI PAGE. SSH login details are specific to each resource, as outlined here.

ACES (Texas A&M)

Please follow the steps below to enable ssh access to ACES:

ACES:Access - TAMU HPRC

Anvil (Purdue)

All Anvil users must set up SSH keys for direct SSH access to Anvil. Please refer to the instructions on how to set up SSH keys.

Please open a ticket if you have questions or issues with the SSH key setup.

Bridges-2 (PSC)

You can connect to a traditional command line interface by logging in via one of these methods:

ssh with password, using either ACCESS or PSC credentials
ssh with public/private keys

SSH with passwords:

Use ssh to connect to Bridges-2 using ACCESS credentials and (optionally) DUO MFA:

Using your ssh client, use your ACCESS credentials and connect to hostname bridges2.psc.edu.
ssh access-username@bridges2.psc.edu
Enter your ACCESS password when prompted.
(Optional) If you are registered with ACCESS DUO, you will receive a prompt on your device. Once you have approved it, you will be logged in.

Use ssh to connect to Bridges-2 using PSC credentials:

Using your ssh client, connect to hostname bridges2.psc.xsede.org or bridges2.psc.edu using the default port (22).
Either hostname will connect you to Bridges-2. You do not have to specify the port.
Enter your PSC username and password when prompted.

SSH with Public-private keys

You can also use public-private key pairs to connect to Bridges-2. To do so, you must first fill out this form to register your keys with PSC.

DARWIN (Delaware)

Delta (NCSA)

Please enable direct access to Delta as documented in the links below by using your NCSA username, NCSA password, and NCSA Duo MFA.

Please see User Services NCSA Allocation and Account Management for the steps to change your NCSA password for direct access and set up NCSA DUO. Please contact help@ncsa.illinois.edu for assistance.

Use of ssh-key pairs is disabled for general use. Please contact NCSA Help at help@ncsa.illinois.edu for key-pair use by Gateway allocations.

Expanse (SDSC)

Expanse supports access via the command line using an ACCESS-wide password or ssh-keys. To log in to Expanse from the command line, use the hostname: login.expanse.sdsc.edu

The following are examples of Secure Shell (ssh) commands that may be used to log in to Expanse:

ssh -l <your_username> login.expanse.sdsc.edu

Jetstream-2 (IU)

Jetstream2 is primarily accessible through either the Exosphere web interface using ACCESS credentials via Globus Auth.

KyRIC (Kentucky)

KyRIC users will need to log in using public key authentication. In this method, you need to create a private SSH key that you keep in your local machine, while you copy the public key into KXC.

If you have not setup your SSH keys by Sept 1st 2022, please open a ticket and we will assist you in adding your SSH keys to your account.

Rockfish (JHU)

Reset Password: Users may reset a password in two ways:

Email help@rockfish.jhu.edu to request a password reset.

Users may also connect to the Rockfish portal and type the email associated with the account. A link to reset the password will be sent to this email.

ACCESS users can connect to Rockfish using ssh:

localhost$ ssh [-XY] login.rockfish.jhu.edu -l userid

"login" is a gateway server that will authenticate credentials and then connect the user to one of three physical login nodes (identical to regular compute nodes). Hostname: login.rockfish.jhu.edu (gateway)

Stampede-2 (TACC)

Use your TACC password, not your XSEDE password, for direct logins to TACC resources. You can change your TACC password through the TACC User Portal. Log into the portal, then select "Change Password" under the "HOME" tab. If you've forgotten your password, go to the TACC User Portal home page and select "Password Reset" under the Home tab.

Open Science Grid (OSG)

As of December 2021, users with ACCESS allocations (startup or regular) will be requested to 'Sign Up' for an account via the OSG Connect service, after which an OSG Research Computing Facilitator will meet with them in order to provide personalized guidance and set up appropriate accounts. Given the differences between the OSPool and other ACCESS-participating resources, login via the ACCESS single sign-on portal is not functional.
