The Data and Networking Support team (NDTS) serves the ever-growing need for an efficient and
resilient data transfer capability when using advanced CI resources. The team strives to improve data transfer capability between instruments, resources, centers, and campuses in the CI ecosystem and engages with the US national research and education backbone network. NDTS will seek to identify new data transfer and networking technologies and methodologies for potential introduction into the ACCESS ecosystem. NDTS will achieve this mission through three focus areas: data architecture and transfer services, performance metrics, and CI community engagement. NDTS will continue to provide impactful services while also seeking innovative technologies, such as network programmability, to improve the data transfer experience and ACCESS RP support to meet the varied needs of the expanding NSF resource provider community. Additionally, Data and Networking Support contributes to the development and training of the next generation STEM workforce through the STEP program.
