The ACCESS Resource Provider (RP) Forum provides a space for open and inclusive discussion of topics of interest to the NSF cyberinfrastructure service provider community and facilitates a formal communication channel between the Forum members and ACCESS. By working together to integrate these services, the providers and ACCESS advance the scientific productivity of the community in a manner that would be diffficult or impossible for the individual providers to achieve by themselves. For the services provided by ACCESS to be effective, they must interface with the infrastructures and capabilities operated by the RPs. The implementation of such interfaces is facilitated by cooperation and various degrees of commonality between ACCESS, the RPs, and the broader stakeholder community that utilizes these services.
While the Resource Provider Forum fulfills certain ACCESS‐specific requirements and goals and while RPs may have Cooperate Agreements with the NSF that mandate their interaction with ACCESS, the forum will be open to any Resource Provider that sees value in exchanging experiences, sharing best practices and in leveraging the common tools and capabilities offered by ACCESS and thus become an active element in the national Cyberinfrastructure ecosystem.
