Notes October 31, 2024


Goal: Set-up user testing with five persona types. These will be one-on-one qualitative interviews conducted over Zoom.


Compensation
12 participants (Researchers, Educators, Grad Students) will receive CCEP Awards of up to 1k to attend one conference registration. Compensation for Resource Providers and Programs & Organizations TBD.

Restrictions:

  • No RPs

  • No one who works for ACCESS or affiliated with ACCESS

  • No staff who work on an ACCESS NSF grant

Participants
Two experienced ACCESS users and two new to ACCESS from each persona category:

  • Researchers (Two CCEP awards)

  • Educators (Two CCEP awards)

  • Graduate Students (Two CCEP award)

  • Resource Provider

  • Representative from a Programs & Organizations


Identifying Participants
Both ACO and Support to send out announcement about user testing in upcoming newsletters. May have a QR code for the sign up form at the ACCESS booth at SC24.

  • ACO has 60,000 ACCESS newsletter sign ups. Assume there are both experienced users and those who have never used ACCESS in this newsletter list.


Participant Signup Form
Form will include questions and qualifications. Example: Resource Catalog example form

  • Need university email TBD

  • Describe your experience with research computing?

  • Describe your experience with ACCESS?

  • Check which persona you are

  • Are you available for a 1 hr interview in Jan-Feb 2025

Facilitators
Two people on each zoom call. One consistent ACO member the other a track participant

Format

  • 1 hour

  • Online, zoom, recorded

  • Two ACCESS facilitators

    Tasks:
    – Sign up for User ID
    – Can you find the news?
    – Where would you go to learn about ACCESS?
    – Where would you go for help or support within ACCESS
    – Is ACCESS speaking to you? Do you see yourself here?

After SC finalize and schedule
Interviews start after Jan 4.

Who facilitates?
– Consistent people vs. bringing in track specific people
